We’re excited to announce that The Unit Gym is supporting the #GreenRibbonIrl campaign this September, turning Offaly green in a mission to help end the stigma around mental health. The campaign is part of Offaly Goes Green, an initiative led by ACT (Accessible Counselling Tullamore), and we’re calling on all our members, local businesses, and clubs to get involved.
How Can You Help?
It’s simple! Throughout September, you can join us in spreading awareness by:
- Wearing a FREE Green Ribbon – Pick yours up locally and wear it proudly for the month.
- Decorating Your Space – Whether it’s your home, business, or school, let’s paint Offaly green!
- Hosting or Joining a Green Event – Encourage conversations and awareness around mental health.
Share your efforts online using the hashtag #OffalyGoesGreen, and let’s create a wave of support for mental health in our community.
Why It Matters
Mental health affects us all, and open conversations can help end the stigma. By supporting this campaign, we can honour the legacy of James O’Connor, who founded ACT and dedicated his life to mental health advocacy.
Join us this September—whether you’re from Clara, Moate, or beyond—and let’s make a difference together. For more information, visit Offaly Goes Green or stop by The Unit Gym for details on how to get involved.
Let’s do it for James. Let’s do it for all of us.
